Joni. Especially Blue but also Court and Spark. The inimitable power of her music, the moving everyday poetry of her lyrics, and, of course, her angelic, incomparable voice.
There are so many singers I have in my treasure chest of must-listens to reunite me with myself. They range from Ella Fitzgerald to Joni Mitchell to Florence Welch. And lately I've been grounding through a lot of Michael Kiwanuka -- there is magic in that man's voice . . . and music!
Hmmm. I have extensive mother issues, stemming from the fact that my mother was never a Mommy type to me, if that makes sense. (My sister got a mommy. I did not.) So, I’d say Judy Collins, Linda Ronstadt, and maybe Dusty Springfield? All have soothing voices to my ears.

OMG I completely forgot about Joni! She's definitely in my personal cohort. I should do an entire piece abut her.
She's my inspiration as well as my musical comfort food.

Like a cool hand on a fevered brow.
What pono sounds like. Peace.
Love Sting! Fell in love with his doppelganger, but he had too many ex-wives. Sigh. At least we have his music. Especially his track from Mercury Falling: https://open.spotify.com/track/7ob9VCRshbnuBibRNtSQNy?si=e85d8795ef6d4656
LOVE this track, especially the intro... he just SOUNDS like he's wearing a puffy poet shirt and lounging by the Thames whilst strumming his lute ;)
Rightttttt???? (Swoon!)
Always and forever John Denver. His voice equals clarity to me. An Evening with John Denver is the two album masterpiece I always go to.

Are there any women whose voices also have that effect? I love learning about these things :)
