I used to do this more often but we don't have an EV so I'm much more conscious about gas consumption now. I didn't own a car for more than 40 years and mostly took public transit, but sometimes I would carpool to parties and events with friends, or gigs with my bands. We often took the long way, and those are some of the happiest memories of youth.
For Russel's birthday one year I borrowed a friend's car and just drove R around on the gulf coast of Florida. We saw gators! And there were meals and some drinking involved.
Nice! The other day Hubs floated the idea of renting an RV and doing a Southwest roadtrip after we retire, but I was like NO SIR! I'd prefer a fly-in, fly-out sitch, and I'd like it to be kinda glampy, please.
I love the phrase "car wander" too. Russel's favorite thing in the world too.

I truly don’t understand why “live and let live” is such a hard concept for people to embrace.
Yes, yes, yes! Happy Pride, y'all. And I do mean ALL OF YOU.
